2013 Simon Marketing Association Case Competition
The Simon Business School’s 18th Annual Simon School Marketing Case Competition hosted by the Simon Marketing
Association took place on November 8th and 9th at the University Rochester, Rochester, NY. The Simon School of business has a long history of hosting prestigious companies in a problem solving case setting. In the past the Simon Business School has worked with companies such as IBM, Reckitt Benckiser, Xerox Corporation, and Heineken. We are happy that we have been able to continue this tradition with the Crayola Company as this year’s Platinum Sponsor.
The Simon Business School hosted a total of 23 MBA students representing 3 different business schools including Simon
Business School, Carroll School of Business and Columbia Business School. They competed in teams on a real business challenge provided by Crayola. Each team received the case on Friday evening and had 3 hours in the evening and 4 the following morning to analyze the business issues, prepare a presentation and provide recommendations to a panel of judges.
The judges included Jordan Howell Associate Product Manager Crayola, Gary Kazmer General Global e-Commerce Crayola, Kelly Anne Cohen Product Manager Crayola, Doug Bennett Manager FP&A Sales & Store Analytics Toys “R” Us our silver sponsor, and Russ McDonald VP Collegiate Relations AMA | Rochester. A prize package worth $5,000 was awarded Saturday night.
